Internal Committee (IC) / Anti Sexual Harassment (ASH)
Committee membership, training and a hotline grievance system that help more than 140 industries prevent sexual harassment at work.
NMCT is a member of the Internal Committee / Anti Sexual Harassment Committee in more than 140 industries in the Coimbatore and Tirupur districts.
In addition to being a member organisation, NMCT trains industry employees on the prevention of sexual harassment against women and girls at work. The trainers also discuss issues with employees, record complaints, and submit a report to each industry with recommendations to resolve them.
For new industries, NMCT facilitates the effective implementation of an Anti Sexual Harassment Committee, aimed at preventing sexual harassment against women and girls at the workplace. The company forms the committee as per the norms prescribed by the Government.
NMCT participates in the Anti Sexual Harassment Committee at least once every two months. NMCT also develops strategies and modules on the prevention of sexual harassment against women and girls at the workplace, and conducts awareness programmes.
Hotline Grievance Reporting System
NMCT implements a Hotline Grievance Reporting System. Its scope is:
To identify employee grievances and redress them.
To establish a good rapport between employees and employers.
To reduce dissatisfaction among employees, with the support of the industries.
For the hotline, the company arranges a phone with recording facilities. NMCT reports the details of calls received and recorded every day, along with a consolidated monthly report with findings on major issues.
