Children’s Day was celebrated with the participation of Government school children and the Children at Abhaya Students Shelter. We have conducted competitions and given awareness on Child Protection and distributed prizes to the participants.
DIWALI was celebrated in Tirupur in collaboration with Lions Club of Tirupur and distributed new clothes and sweets to 1000 children
DAAN UTSAV was observed between 1st October and 8th October and supported more than 50 children going to Government Schools with the contribution of philanthropists in Coimbatore District.
35th Inaugural Day was celebrated virtually on 13th and physically on 18th September 2022 with the participation of many Donors, Philanthropists, beneficiaries and Government officials.
75th Independence Day was celebrated held at Abhaya on 15.08.2022 in a grand manner. Ln. Sankar hosted the Indian National Flag. Managing Trustee, Trustees, Lion Club Members, Staff Team, German Volunteers and the children of Abhaya have participated. Mr. A.S. Sankaranarayanan delivered the welcome address and all the dignitaries shared their Independence Day wishes to each other.
Native Medicare Charitable Trust (NMCT) is being involved in providing field work, internships and block placement for Social Work students for a long time. To develop and strengthen the curriculum for social work interns, NMCT wanted insight on the needs of a student and educational institutions. Keeping this in mind, HODs of Social Work departments, prominent personalities in the field of education and training were invited for a State Level Virtual Meeting on 25th of February 2022.
Mr. Shanmugam, Senior Regional Director of IGNOU, Madurai gave the Chief Guest Address spoke about the importance of field workers and shared his wish of every work taken up by them becoming successful. Curriculum formed by NMCT for MSW students was displayed which covered Theory, Practical Experience, Interpersonal Development, Development towards Technical Aspects and Recognition. Mr.A.S.Sankaranarayanan, Managing Trustee-NMCT discussed on future plans of NMCT in which the major focus is on Organizing Certificate/Diploma Courses with Universities.
Dr.Lovelina Little Flower, HOD, Department of Social Work, Bharathiar University, Dr.SethuramaSubbaiah, Former HOD of Department of Social Work, Bharathiar University, Dr. John Britto, Managing Director, JOBA, Australia, Dr.Rajan, Secretary of Bishop Appasamy College of Education, Dr.Paranjothi Ramalingam, Former HOD of SRKV Department of Social Work, HoDs and Faculties from various institutions shared their opinion and suggestions to develop and strengthen the Field Work Curriculum for Social Work students. As recognition for the meeting was participation of overseas personalities serving in Skill Development and Education. IGNOU and JOBA have agreed to motivate the interns in organizing allied courses with NMCT.
