NMCT conducts Advisory Cum Well Wishers Meeting every year to share the interventions, activities, achievements and accomplishments during the year by the organization, to the members of the Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee Meeting for the year 2020 – 2021 was conducted on 13.02.2021 at Kerala Club, Coimbatore. The Trustees, Representatives from Corporate Heads, Stakeholders, Philanthropic Donors, HODs and Professors of Social Work Department Colleges participated in the Meeting. After the detailed presentation by the Director Mr.A.S. Sankaranarayanan, the members expressed their views and shared their suggestions for future development of the organization
The Annual Get Together and Review Meeting of NMCT was conducted on 30th and 31st December respectively at Gopanari Tribal Village. All the staff have participated in the Get together and review meeting. The Get Together was a memorable day for one and all with full of entertainments and cultural programs. Prizes were distributed to the winners of games and cultural programs.
All the staff presented their activities during 2020 through PPT / Video presentation. The Employees who have completed service in NMCT for more than 15 years and 10 years above were honoured and awarded. All the Project Managers were also appreciated for their leadership and awarded. Awards for Best Presentation, Best Employee of the Project, Winners of Knowledge Assessment Test, were also presented. All the Staff have also provided with New Diaries 2021 and Uniforms.
The program continued with the experience sharing of projects staff during 2020. The valedictory of the two days program was presented by Mr. AlexVijay, CSR Head, Eicher Group Foundation, Mr. Rajesh, Mahindra Finance and Mr. Vishnu Kannan, Community Development Officer, BOSCH.
NMCT –LIFE project conducted World AIDS Day observation 2020 at SRI NIVASHA MAHAL, Tirupur on 1st December 2020 with 220 beneficiaries & 30dignitaries. Mr. A.S Sankaranarayanan Project Director delivered the welcome address to the gathering followed by him Mr. K.N Vijayakumar (MLA) inaugurated the program and lightened the candles as a tribute to the people who lost their lives due to HIV/ AIDS followed by the Presidential address of Dr.Ln.MJF.K. Kandasamy, Advisor, NMCT /Past chairman - CII. Key note address was given by Ms. Heike Salvador, Coordinator, Development Cooperation, KKS-Germany.The children who scored high marks in 10th and 12th in Public Examination and also the winner of competitions were honoured. Pledge on WORLD AIDS DAY was taken by all the participants.
NMCT founded on 13.09.1988 celebrated its 32nd Anniversary on 13.09.2020 through Google Meet. The Advisory Board Members, Trustees, Stakeholders and the Donors participated in the Google Meet. Mr. A.S. Sankaranarayanan, Managing Trustee, briefed the journey of NMCT over the past 32 years. He narrated the difficult days passed and the challenges faced in developing the organization, He thanked one and all for their able guidance, support and contributions towards the social cause. Mr. S. Sandilya Chairman, Eicher Motors, Mr. C.S. Vaidyanathan, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court, New Delhi, Mr. Babu, C.E.O., GTN Exports, Dr. K. Kandasamy, Managing Director, Majestic Exports, Mr. Venkatesan, Well Wisher, Mr. D.T. Reji Chandra, Director, Pragma Consultancy, appreciated the accomplishments of NMCT over these years. The entire Well – Wishers desired that NMCT must enter into new ventures to extend its services to the independents.
NMCT conduct PongalVizha every year with traditional celebrations, to honour the tribes. Pongal Vizha 2021 was conducted in a grand manner on 10.01.2021 at Gopanari, participated by the Lions Clubs of Lions International District 324 B 1, 324 B 5, and Bharathi Park Ladies Association. PMJF.Ln. R.N. Karunanithi, District Governor, inaugurated Pongal Vizha. Around650 Tribal men and women were supported with new sarees, dhothis and T – Shirts. Grocery materials were also provided to REaD(Rojakootam Education and Development) Centers, the supplementary education center organized for marginalized Tribal Children during Corona pandemic.
With due precautionary measures for the COVID-19 pandemic, Diwali 2020 was celebrated at LIFE Project Office in Tirupur. Amidst the panic created by the pandemic, this was our effort to bring some light into the lives of beneficiaries. Due to COVID-19 pandemic the Diwali celebration program was held at different venues (Gandhinagar KCC, Dharapuram KCC &Udumalpet KCC) and on different dates. After the welcome Address by the Project Director Mr. A.S.Sankaranarayanan, MJF.Ln. K.Kandasamy, Managing Director of Majestic Exports Pvt Ltd, and an Advisory Board member of NMCT inaugurated the program and delivered the inaugural address. Lions Club member Adv. N.Jeyasakaran, Mr. M.Dhanabalan, President of Lions Club Tirupur East, Dr.Palanisamy, President of Indian Medical Association, Tirupur and Mr. Sivakumar, District Supervisor, DAPCU, Tirupur spoke about NMCT’s contributions in the field of HIV/AIDS and Diwali Celebration for the last 14 years. The beneficiaries shared their happiness towards NMCT’s interventions, supports for health care and dignified life. Later on, support materials which included new cloths, Sweets and Savories were distributed by the special guests to around 300 children
NMCT works with the most deprived people of society for their sustainability. The impact of COVID 19 on the poorest of the rural poor in the initial phase one is in two ways, the first hunger and the next exposure to infection. NMCT tapped its credibility with its funding partners to address these two issues and submitted project proposals. Due support and orders from the district administration for the distribution was obtained through repeated advocacy. Mr. Rajamani, IAS, District Collector- Coimbatore has inaugurated the distribution program to the beneficiaries. NMCT has implemented the distribution program in Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode and Salem districts of Tamilnadu by distribution 6750 Grocery Aid Kits to the beneficiaries in time with the guidance of Mr.A.S.Sankaranarayanan, Managing Trustee-NMCT. Distribution programs in 4 districts were monitored by Mr.A.S.Sankaranarayanan, Managing Trustee-NMCT, Staffs of NMCT, Royal Enfield Rider's Club, Royal Enfield, District Administration and various departments of Government.
