The recent COVID -19 pandemic and the consequent lock down have resulted in shutting down all the industries, hotels & restaurants, brick Kiln and construction work. This has rendered thousands of migrant workers in Coimbatore and neighbouring districtsas well as marginalised communities jobless due to the lock down and made them starving for food.NMCT responded with the proposals to various corporate, funding agencies and other philanthropic associations to seek support in time.
In response to the proposals, corporate like Eicher Group Foundation, Wipro,Karl Kuebel Stiftung Germany and Mahindra Rural Home Finance Limited have come forward to provide Grocery Aid Kits, Give India has supported with financial aid, NTT DATA has organized Community Kitchens, Joy of Giving Kits in Tribal area and provided with medical equipments to Government Hospital, Coimbatore, Making More Health, Mahindra Home Finance and United Way have also have provided Health & Hygiene kits to the target beneficiaries in Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode and Salem districts and Royal Enfield has upgraded the Rural Primary Health Centers and Government Hospital with necessary Medical equipment and consumables in Coimbatore, Tirupur and Palakad districts during the second wave of Covid-19
